There are many ways you can provide feedback on your student experience to help us make your time at Newcastle University even better.
Here are some of the ways you can let your voice be heard...
School Reps represent your voice at the Faculty level, sharing your views and feedback at meetings of the Faculty Postgraduate Research Committee. You can find out more about School Reps, including the contact details of the Rep for your School or Institute, by visiting the NUSU website.
The School Rep position for the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape is currently vacant! If you are from an eligible research programme and are interested in applying, you can find out more about the role here and submit an application here.
At the University level, you are represented by Eleanor McCarthy, the NUSU Postgraduate Officer for 2021/22. Eleanor represents the views of all postgraduate students and pushes for positive changes on their behalf at the most senior University meetings. You can read her recent Term 1 update here.
This year, Eleanor is working to improve the experience and conditions of PGRs who teach. If you would be interested in participating in workshops about this topic run by Eleanor and PGR School Reps, keep an eye out for more information in future emails in this series.
At the end of January, Eleanor will be running a week of events focusing on postgraduate wellbeing and bringing the PG community together. Follow her on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to find out more in the coming weeks and months.
Another way you can provide positive feedback on the amazing staff that have made a huge difference to your time at Newcastle is by submitting a nomination to the NUSU Education Awards. The Education Awards, or TEAs, recognise the positive impact of staff across a range of categories, including Research Supervisor of the Year. Nominations open on 29 November on the NUSU website.
