Already the national pistol shooting champion, Toby competed at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi before representing GB U22 in the Rapid Fire back in October.
He finished 5th in the world, marking one of the strongest international results of his career so far!
🚣 Rowing: Success at GB Trials

At the recent GB Rowing trials, Ed and Gwilym delivered a stand-out performance. The pair placed second overall and also won the U23 category, securing their spot in the next stage of GB selection.
🏃 Athletics: a breakthrough season for Joy

Pharmacy student Joy Eze continues to shine on the track.
After representing Team GB at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Joy went on to win Sport Newcastle's Young Sporting Success of the Year in November.
She also claimed European Gold this summer as part of the GB Under 23 relay squad, setting her up for what looks to be another massive season in 2026.
🏆 Rising Star award for Henry

Law student and athletic talent Henry was also recognised this year, winning a Rising Star award at the Sport Newcastle awards held at Newcastle Civic Centre in November.
His continued progress marks him as one to watch in next year's University athletics season.
📈 Our year in Intramural Sport - more teams than ever!

Our Intramural Sport programme continues to grow, with 17 new teams added this year, bringing the total to an incredible 138 teams across campus!
That means that over 2,000 students are regularly taking part in football, netball, rugby, basketball, and hockey!
With 80+ hours of competitive sport every week, intramural continues to be one of the most popular and inclusive ways for students to get active!
Together, these achievements highlight the strength, dedication, and talent across Newcastle Sport... and we can't wait to see what our students get up to next year!
