We want to remind you of the wide range of useful, online resources available. There’s no better time to get career ready! Don’t forget we offer 1-2-1 appointments via MyCareer for tailored career advice and guidance.

1. Practise your interview techniques with Shortlist.Me

Used by real graduate recruiters, Shortlist.Me will give you a realistic view of what a video interview is like. After your interview, you will receive feedback via email, and you can watch your recordings to reflect on your performance.

Log into MyCareer, and click on the Resources tab in the top right-hand corner. Select Shortlist.Me and then log in.

2. Get instant CV feedback with CareerSet

CVs are scored on key skills that recruiters look for, focusing on impact, brevity and style. Use CareerSet for instant feedback, including tips and ideas to improve its effectiveness.

Log into CareerSet with your Newcastle University email address and you’ll receive an authentication link to create your account.

3. Practise recruitment assessments on Graduates First

Watch short clips to help you prepare, and you can choose either a competency or strengths-based interview to practise yourself.

Log into Newcastle University Graduates First portal with your Newcastle University email address and you’ll receive an authentication link to create your account.

4. Find overseas opportunities and advice with GoinGlobal

GoinGlobal allows you to search for jobs, internships and employers worldwide. Use their country profiles for information on cost of living, visa regulations, CV & interview guides and so much more!

Log into MyCareer, and click on the Resources tab in the top right-hand corner. You'll find GoinGlobal listed under 'other'.

5. Search for jobs as an international student on Student Circus

Student Circus is an online job search platform dedicated to international students. Find jobs, and access free immigration guides and job seeker toolkits.

To access these vacancies, register with Student Circus using your @ncl email address.

You’ll also find Student Circus in MyCareer in the Resources tab in the top right-hand corner. Select Student Circus - Student Access and then log in.
