The focus was to deliver artwork which clearly communicates complex research topics in simple and engaging formats. Funding from the Doctoral College enabled 15 students to engage with a series of science communication workshops led by Infohackit to support the process of turning data and theories into visual images. This work culminated in an exhibition hosted at the Dove Marine Laboratory during the Cullercoats Festival in June 2024, which saw over 1100 visitors in only 3 hours. The hope is to expand this concept into other departments at the university, fuelling new conversations across different disciplines.
