Pride Inside Header

To help recognise and celebrate LGBTQ+ history month in 2021, our Students' Union is teaming up with the wonderful LGBTQ+ student society to bring you "Pride Inside". The aim of the campaign is to not only raise awareness, show support and lift up those in the rainbow community but to open up a safe space  through a series of virtual events. Featuring discussions, a virtual pub quiz and even an exclusive "Pride" weekend to enjoy from the comforts of your own home, the month long campaign invites all students to get involved to learn, listen, celebrate and importantly, have fun!

The collaboration will also highlight the range of support services available to LGBTQ+ students both within the university, our Students' Union and externally to ensure all students are supported in their journey. Interested? Check out the campaign and get involved here.

Virtual City Tours - NewcastleGateshead & Lundgren Tours

Virtual City Tour

As the nation is advised to work remotely and stay home where possible, it is undeniable that many of us are missing our favourite city hotspots and activities around Newcastle. Yet, despite the lockdown measures, Newcastle and Gateshead's fantastic cultural hubs like the Great North Museum, BALTIC Centre of Contemporary Art and the Victoria Tunnels are bringing their exhibitions and stories direct to your home with their virtual tours. Sit back, grab a hot drink and glide through the virtual exhibitions of Laing Gallery or even get the whole family involved in the Life Centre's #LifeGoesOnline experiments. At little to no cost too, it's never been easier to experience the rich heritage, art and culture of our home.

If that's not enough, our friends over at Lundgren Tours also have some fantastic virtual tours planned for February. Step into the mystical 7 kingdoms with their interactive Game of Thrones themed tour of Hadrian's Wall or visit the 'holy island' with their exclusive Viking tour of Lindisfarne.

Ready to explore? Check out more virtual tours with NewcastleGateshead's here.

Online Fitness Classes - Give it a Go

Whether you're after some midday mindfulness, beginners yoga or even something more fast-paced, there is something for all effort levels. No specialist equipment, membership or payment is needed but the sessions are limited by number so book early to ensure you don't miss out!
