Looking for some fun this June? We've put together ten top events to help you celebrate the end of term and kickstart your summer!

Scottish Highlands Trip - 7th - 9th June

Join Lundgren Tours on this epic 3 day adventure of the Scottish Highlands, known for its unspoiled nature and beauty. You’ll see all the iconic locations on this trip such as Loch Ness and Glen Coe (James Bond anyone?) and plenty of cute highland cows. For the Harry Potter fans out there, get ready to geek out at Glenfinnan Viaduct as you watch the Hogwarts Express cross!

Business School Master's Open Day - 8th June

Grad Ball 2022 - June 12th

After a two-year hiatus, the Grad Ball is officially back! This year’s theme is 007 and you can expect a delicious 3-course meal, a DJ, photographers, and a whole night of 007 secret agent fun – the perfect way to celebrate the end of your time at university.

End of Term Beach Social - 15th June

Join Lundgren Tours on this fantastic end of term beach social at Bamburgh Beach in Northumberland, widely known as one of the UK’s best beaches. The beach boasts miles of white sands and dunes, not to mention the impressive Bamburgh Castle in view. Your tour guide will also keep you entertained with a range of beach games and activities so it’s sure to be an afternoon of relaxing and fun!

The Book of Mormon at Theatre Royal

This month, you can catch one of the world’s most beloved musicals right here in the Toon. The Book of Mormon will be on at Theatre Royal from 15 June to 9 July and the hilarious global sensation is not to be missed.

If it’s not exactly your cup of tea but you still fancy watching a show at the Theatre Royal or the Tyne Theatre & Opera House, there are plenty of other brilliant productions on this June. From the award-winning The Play That Goes Wrong to The Guilty Feminist: Live, there’s something for everyone.

The Stand Comedy Club - various dates

Looking for a laugh? There’s no better place than The Stand Comedy Club in the Newcastle city centre! There’s a great range of live comedy events on this June, from big headliners featuring some stand-up comedians you may already know of to the club’s super popular ”legendary new comedy night” Red Raw Wednesdays. For just £5pp, you can enjoy up to ten brilliant new beginner acts.

Explore Ouseburn

Voted as one of the world's coolest neighbourhoods in Time Out Magazine and located very close to the city centre, Ouseburn is definitely one worth exploring this summer. With excellent food and drink places, art, music and much more, it's easily Newcastle's most vibrant and creative community.

There's an endless list of brilliant places worth visiting but if you'd like a starting point, we'd recommend you grab a bite in the industrial-chic Ernest Cafe Bar or The Ship Inn Ouseburn (Newcastle's number one vegan restaurant), enjoy a delicious ice cream from Di Meo's while you check out the contemporary riverside and visit The Biscuit Factory for some terrific art and craft.

If you haven't been to HWKRMRKT at By the River Brew Co yet, you're missing out! This street food market on the Gateshead / Newcastle Quayside has plenty to offer, with popular local restaurants such as Dabbawal and Acropolis in residence. The atmosphere is always fantastic and with *fingers crossed* more sunny days on the horizon, it's the perfect place to enjoy some time with friends as the term ends.

This month you can join a workshop to help you prepare for a placement year, get tips on how to ace your applications and interviews or if you're an international student the "NCL Careers Workshop - Immigration routes into graduate employment" session may be helpful.
