As we slowly phase out of Autumn and swap our cardigans for coats, November allows us to admire the saffron tones of the exiting months in the crisp air of the incoming one.
A classic brought to stage, close to home.
In our very own Northern Stage, see the journey of an ambitious young woman who must choose between the man she wants to be with, and the woman she wants to become.
Nearly 180 years since publication, this story still captivate audiences across generations.
Just in time for those incoming winter nights, a thrilling Agatha Christie mystery featuring renowned detective Hercule Poirot is brought to stage.
A whodunnit taking place in a refined country estate, that startles even this seasoned detective? Now that’s sure to grab anyone’s attention, so get tickets whilst they’re still available!
See characters from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Toy Story skate on ice to celebrate the start of winter.
Whether you go with family, friends or solo, you will be inspired to perhaps get on the ice yourself and revisit some old Disney classics afterwards.
The Christmas lights switch on at Grey’s Monument will mark the official beginning of the festive season.
Surrounded by live music, festive games and ‘special guests’ to mark the occasion, the colder and darker days that are approaching will seem just that bit brighter. .
A chance to look at newly catalogued archive material in the Discovery Museum, as well as get a tour of their archives store, including but not limited to their eldest charter dating back to 1183.
If you’re a massive fan of museums or just the opportunity to look behind the scenes of places you usually wouldn’t be able to otherwise, this is perfect for you!
A week after the lights turn on, Newcastle’s Christmas Market is also opens!
So, if you’re in the mood for Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, Alpine Fondue and cheese wheels along with numerous other traders across three streets, you know where to go.
If you are chasing that Christmas feeling across multiple cities, Edinburgh is one I would definitely recommend.
Although I love our very own cosy Toon Christmas Market, the scale and variety further up north brings a different perspective on what the season can be like.
With several rides, seemingly endless stalls and a panoramic view of Edinburgh Castle in the background, a trip there is definitely on my wish list this year.
Luckily Lundgren Tours is going on the 28 November to give a tour of not just the market, but the historical city in its full beauty, so grab tickets while they’re still available!
