From a Halloween all-nighter to a day trip to Edinburgh, there’s something for everyone.
St James' Park Stadium Tour
Calling all football fans… get the opportunity to tour the iconic Newcastle United football stadium on Tuesday 11 October. Get exclusive access to restricted areas of the stadium from seeing the pitch to the press room, you’ll learn more about the history of the club. Grab a photo in Tripper’s spot in the changing room!
Graduate Recruitment and Placements Fair, Newcastle University
If you're starting to consider your future options, why not head down to the Graduate Recruitment and Placements Fair on campus? This event hosts over 120 local and national employers from a range of sectors who are looking for placement students, interns and graduates. Connect with them and learn about the wide variety of roles that they have to offer.
The fair runs Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 October, 10:30-15:00 across The Venue (in the Students' Union), the Lindisfarne Room (in the Hadrian Building) and the Boiler House.
Tyneside Halloween All-Nighter, Tyneside Cinema
Fancy a fright? Visit Newcastle’s leading independent cinema for ‘The Tyneside Halloween All-Nighter’ on Saturday 28 October, featuring 4 themed screens, 17 horror films, a Halloween Film Quiz, music, costumes, and prizes for the best-dressed. It promises a night of horrifying fun and fright, with a variety of horror films to choose from. Stay awake and enjoy the terror!
Vintage Market, Students' Union
Vintage Vera are back! Hosting an extensive range of vintage and retro clothing in the Students' Union. Head down and grab some bargains with t-shirts as cheap as £3! Clothing is priced by weight with no minimum spend. Join them on Monday 23 October and shop a huge range of vintage, preloved clothing.
Day trip to Edinburgh
Discover the wonderfully historic city of Edinburgh on this day trip event on Saturday 21 October. Travel by coach and you'll be dropped off in the city centre with the full day to explore this beautiful capital. There is so much to do in Edinburgh from the National Museum of Scotland to the Zoo!
Take a stroll and enjoy the old streets of the city or visit the castle for panoramic views. Edinburgh boasts lots of independent and quirky shops (check out the Old Town and Grass Market) as well as plenty of high street stores on Princess Street. This is a great day out and a chance to experience the charm of the Scottish capital. Tickets are £16.00 and include return travel to and from the Students' Union.
Jesmond Dene Food Market
Located to the right of Jesmond, the Dene is a long winding greenspace and wooded valley following along the river Ouseburn. It is a great space to visit and explore on an autumn walk. Check out the vibrant street food market every first and third Saturday of the month (7 and 23 October) on Armstrong Bridge. Expect woodfired pizza, Greek gyros, crepes… from a rotating line-up of over 20 vendors. There’s something to please everyone. Plus, a selection of stalls offering a range of artisan breads, cheeses, chutneys and more.
