Freshers may have ended, but our Top October Events will keep you busy as we enter spooky season!

Tyneside Cinema Hallowe'en All-Nighter

Immerse yourself in a full night of cinematic horrors! On Saturday 26 October, Tyneside Cinemas legendary Halloween All-Nighter returns for a full night of back-to-back horror hallmarks. 5 themed screens and 20 frightful films to choose from promises a terrifying night of fun.

Tickets cost £30 for the whole night, or you can choose to buy a single film separately.

Student Night at the Races - 18 October

Kickstart your weekend on Friday 18 October with one of the best social student days of the year! You can try your luck in some of the races throughout the day while enjoying the live DJ sets, bands, food stalls and more. Put on your best outfit (that you don’t mind potentially getting muddy) and enjoy!

Ticket prices vary based on when you book, so get them early.

Plant Sale - 23-25 October

The plant sale is back! Whether your new room is in need of some life, or you have already killed off your collection from last year, these student friendly priced plants will give you an excuse to grow wild!

The sale will be situated outside the student union entrance from 23-25 October, giving you plenty of time to ponder – should it be a cactus or a plant that you forget to water this year?

Hallowe'en at Newcastle Castle - 26 October - 3 November

Where better to revel in the horrors of Halloween than in Newcastle Castle? From 26 October-3 November, the castle will be taken over by an array of dreaded figures, from executioners to the barber surgeon. The Castle is also running Halloween night tours where your guide will fill you in on all of the Castle’s scariest secrets.

Additionally, throughout October, the Castle will be screening all your favourite Halloween films. The perfect location for a fright!

Vintage Vera - 23 October

Vintage Vera returns this October, satisfying all your vintage shopping needs right here on campus! All clothing is sold based on weight meaning you could snatch up a T-shirt for just £3.

Join them in the Students' Union on Monday 23 October for a full bag of cool, affordable and sustainable clothing.

Lake District Hiking Trip - 8 October

Need some time to reconnect with nature after freshers? We all get it. Enjoy the perfect day trip to the Lake District on Sunday 6 October. You’ll have the opportunity to climb Catbells, or alternatively, you could go to Keswick Launch for a boat trip. You will also have free time to explore the pretty market town of Keswick after.

Tickets can be purchased for £44 from the Students' Union Website.

This event is run by Lundgren Tours, who are also hosting lots of other events throughout this month. Check them out if you fancy exploring more of Newcastle’s beautiful surrounding areas.
