Mercury Fringe Newcastle: A week of Music, Creativity & Free Workshops

Get ready! The Mercury Fringe Newcastle runs 9-15 October 2025 and is your backstage pass into the North East’s music scene.

Over the week you’ll find live showcases, listening parties, industry panels, and free hands-on workshops covering song writing, music production, visual storytelling and more.

Whether you’re a musician, creative or just curious – this is your chance to learn form industry pros and meet local artists.

Tyneside Cinema's Legendry Halloween All-nighter

On 25 October, Tyneside Cinema’s legendary Halloween All-Nighter is back! And this year, it's bigger than ever. Every screen will be showing five spine-tingling films, from cult classics to surprise horror icons, so you can settle in for a full night of thrills and chills.

Grab your popcorn, bring a friend (or scream buddy) and dive into a marathon of spooky scenes right in the heart of Newcastle.

Ice Skating Disco Party, Whitley Bay Ice Rink

Time to swap your trainers for skates! Give It A Go is heading to Whitley Bay Ice Rink for a student disco night full of music, lights and fun on the ice.

No matter if you’re a total beginner or a confident skater, this is your chance to glide, laugh, and maybe even wobble your way through a proper student night out.

Skate hire and entry are included in your ticket, with the Students' Union providing a special discount just for students.

Top tip: Bring warm layers (you’ll be on the ice!) and thick socks to wear under your skates.

If you’re after something a little more chilled this October, the Candlelight concerts are a dreamy way to spend an evening.
