Baltic Heritage Open Days 2024
From Friday 6 to Sunday 15 September, celebrate history and culture with tours from the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. Discover more about the building and its history with behind the scenes tours, as well as our local Quayside.
All tours are free and last approximately 45 minutes.
Tyne Bank’s Happy Paint-a-long
Tyne Bank Brewery & Tap Room are hosting Happy Paint-a-long evenings on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 September. Whether you're an experienced painter or just beginning your artistic journey, this event is designed for all skill levels.
Tickets are £20.21, all supplies included.
NE1 Newcastle’s Dragon Boat Race
Head down to the Quayside for an exhilarating day of camaraderie and charity at the Newcastle's Dragon Boat Race on Saturday 28 September, brought to you by NE1!
This annual event is not only a thrilling competition but also a heartfelt initiative to raise funds for the Newcastle Hospitals Charity while uniting the community in a day of fun and excitement.
The event is free for spectators and there will be on-land entertainment and activities throughout the day.
Silent Disco, Newcastle Cathedral
North East company Awesome Silent Discos make a return after their debut at Newcastle Cathedral earlier this year. With a daytime family party and two adult evening sessions on Saturday 28 September, experience three DJs ‘battling it out’ across three channels with their offerings of 80s, 90s, and 2000s music.
Tickets for the evening sessions start at £23.95 plus booking fee.
Abigail’s Party, Northern Stage
Based at the heart of campus, why not take a trip to Northern Stage to see Abigail’s Party! With performances from Friday 13 to Saturday 28 September, prepare to see Mike Leigh’s cult-classic comedy like never before.
Tickets start from £12.00.

Held from Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 September, our programme of events and activities, both in person and online, will help you settle into university life, meet friends and explore your new home here in Newcastle.
We understand arriving in a new city and country can feel overwhelming but we hope our helpful information sessions with representatives from across University Services about life at Newcastle University will help settle you in. Don’t forget the fun social events from the Students’ Union too, including board games, social sport and a quiz night!

The Clubs and Societies Fair is a great way to explore all the ways you can get involved at Newcastle! The fair will be on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 September from 10:00-16:00 in the Sports and Fitness Centre.
