Welcome to NUSU, your Students’ Union whilst you’re studying here at Newcastle University. We can’t wait to welcome you to campus and into our Newcastle University student community.
To kick off the academic year we have a whole bunch of online and socially distanced events running from 28th September to 16th October for you to get involved in, meet your fellow students and get to know your flatmates.
Your Give it a Go team have been working hard over the summer to ensure there’s so much you can get involved in during the day once you arrive. From virtual campus and city tours to help you feel at home, to learning the local lingo and getting to know the best spots to get your hands on the best local scran, your Welcome to NUSU daytime events will have you making friends and finding new activities you love before your lectures have started.

There will also be a whole host of virtual events for you to get involved in throughout the Welcome to NUSU period. Why not put all those lockdown gaming sessions to the test with our esports tournaments or impress your new flatmates with our virtual cooking class, bond with your new friends with our virtual escape rooms or become the next great detective with How to Profile a Serial Killer. With NUSU’s welcome activities there is something for everyone.
For all you Postgraduate Students keep your eyes peeled for our PG Recommends activities. These are activities chosen by Charlotte, your 2020-2021 NUSU Postgraduate Officer, and your Give it a Go team that we think you’ll love.
